Olivia Bloechl is a historian of early modern European and North American music, with broad expertise in opera before 1800, postcolonialism, cultural theory, and ethics and politics of music. In addition to her ongoing work on opera, current projects include a feminist philosophical study of music and vulnerability, as well as a long-term collaboration (with Katherine Schofield and Gabriel Solis) developing critical theory for the emerging field of global music history.
